Worship
The purpose of the Worship and Arts Committee is to assist congregations and ministries within the Synod to offer faithful worship to God, rooted in Scripture and the confessional and liturgical heritage of our Lutheran tradition.

Ongoing areas of service -
- Adoramus, the newsletter of the Committee, informs worship leaders of events, critiques books, announces new resources and educates the reader with regard to worship practice. See "Publications" to view a copy of Adoramus.
- Calendar of Intercessions A list of weekly prayer suggestions to be used by congregations in their public prayers. These are mailed to the congregations each fall. Diary of Public Prayer and Intercession 2010-2011
- Worship at Conventions Assists local convention committees in their preparation of Convention worship
- Guidelines for Worship Offers guidelines for worship practice. The complete text of this may be found on this website in a sub-page following this section.
- Worship Arts Photo Project Photographs of congregational art is gathered and shared with the synod at times of convention or at other Lutheran events. The subjects include carvings, fabric art, stained glass, pottery pieces and other notable pieces. Several pieces of this art are found throughout this site.
- Worship and Arts Resource People Compiled index of artists and craftspersons able and willing to offer their skills to congregations and ministries of the Synod in various areas related to worship. Look for this 'page' under the Worship heading in this website.
- Hymn Festivals on various themes are available - a Thanksgiving Hymn Festival and a Festival on "With One Voice" Check further down this page for copies of these festivals.
- Contemporary Resources for Loan Copies of two songbooks are available for loan - "With One Voice" and "Worship and Praise". Call the synod office (780, 439-2636) to reserve them. Look for a complete listing of all videos, books and CDs available for loan, see "Publications".
- Guidelines for Sacramental Ministry In response to health concerns in worship practice, "Guidelines for Sacramental Ministry" was developed. Look for this document further down on this page.
- Worship Furnishings A set of green paraments was made and donated by Pastor Marty Tuer; a processional cross was designed by Colleen McGinnis; and, a set of processional torches was also designed by Colleen McGinnis. These pieces are available to congregations to use for special congregational events. Contact the Synod Office to arrange to loan them - 780, 439-2636.
