The Joyce Bergh Memorial Fund

In April 2008, Joyce Bergh, a member of our Synod who served in for over 22 years, passed away at the Bethany Care Center in Calgary. She spent most of her time in as a missionary and teacher at Colegio CELCO – Sogamoso, Colombia and was instrumental in its development.  To honour her and to recognize her contribution to the people of Colombia, it was decided that funds raised for the Colegio CELCO - Sogamoso accreditation project should be officially designated as the Joyce Bergh Memorial Fund.

Your HELP NEEDED!

In 2007, $ 6,763.37 was raised for the Colegio CELCO - Sogamoso accreditation project and in 2008 approximately $23,500.00 was been raised.  The Principal of Colegio CELCO - Sogamoso recently sent the Synod a “thank you” letter which also stated that more funds are needed to finish the work and would be greatly appreciated.  Colegio CELCO – Sogamoso still has a large number of building repairs and upgrades  to complete in order to meet the government standards required for the renewal of their accreditation.   These need to be completed by March 2009. Please encourage your congregation to help the children of receive the kind of education that we Canadians take for granted by designating a special offering to the Joyce Bergh Memorial Fund.
