Members of congregational councils and other interested church leaders, are invited to a day of discussion, learning and fellowship -  please call the synod office (780, 439-2636) if you have questions.

Keynote -
The Rev. Dr. Gordon Jensen will teach us why "grace" is such a valuable concept in Lutheran theology and how, when, where and why we've been transformed by grace - and for what purpose?!

Workshops -
Grace-Filled Living   (The Rev. Dr. Gordon Jensen)
   What impact does being Lutheran have on our daily lives?  What difference can we make in the world? 

Bookkeeping for the Church  (Stephen Wildfang, presenter)
   How to work through the intricacies of church finances, government regulations and filling out forms correctly.

Volunteering..."In Full Bloom" (Edie Kendall, presenter)
   Get growing in your congregations!  With a few gardening tips your volunteers will flourish and be the difference that changes the congregation and the world.

Youth - and all the joy-filled energy (led by various presenters from the Youth Committee)
   What is youth ministry and how does a congregation with only a few youth get this ministry started?  What does a meaningful and effective youth mission trip look like?

Running More Effective Meetings   (Carolyn Reilly, presenter)
   Tips and strategies for making your meetings more effective.  An introduction to Bourinot's Rules of Order and how they apply to your congregational meetings; and some advantages to developing good governance policies in your church.

Worship - Freedom and Flexibility  (The Rev. Dr. Larry Kochendorfer, presenter)
   Explore the essential framework of worship (gathering - word - meal - sending) and the wide variety of worship practices that add welcome, reverence and celebration to the worship service.

Justice - Hope in a Fear-Filled World  (The Rev. Ryan Andersen, presenter)
How transforming can our efforts be in a world that is increasingly focused on finances and production?  How do we engage our members in the work of social justice?

Hospitality - the Welcome of an Open Door   (Ralph Jorgensen, presenter)
Unless you ask a stranger or become one, it is difficult to know if your church is an inviting and friendly place.  Teach your congregational members basic evangelism that is offered at your front door.

Cost:  $40 each person; if there are more than 6 persons from one congregation, the cost is $30 each.  Lunch and coffee is included.
