Bishop's Office Message for June, 2005

Dear Partners in Ministry,

"It's Your Call Sunday" has produced some fine propects for ministry. Thank you for taking the time to make this work. People from age 14 to 55 have been nominated, and several have indicated that they may very well be interested in listening further for God's call into ministry. Please continue to pray for people who God is calling into ministry.

The Lutheran Theological Seminary in Saskatoon is in conversation with several possible candidates, and their spring open house was well attended. The seminary is fully into a search for a new president, and finished the current year operating in the black. Our partners in the Saskatoon Theological Union have both been under great pressure recently, so it is wonderful to have LTS as strong as it is right now. Emmanuel-St. Chad (Anglican) had announced that it might close at the end of May this year, but has received funds sufficient for it to continue for at least another three years. We continue looking at ways to work more effectively together as all seminaries across the country experience financial pressures. Thank you for your continued support of the seminary financially. Please continue to keep the seminary in your prayers.
